Corn plastic is made from polylactic acid PLA & PBAT, which is a plastic substitute, made from fermented plant starch. Corn Starch Plastic is an alternative product to petroleum based plastic. It has the same characteristics, but corn plastic is made from corn starch polymers, a biodegradable and renewable resource.
Corn plastic packaging or items made from corn plastic, will decompose within two months of being in a high humidity composting environment, at a temperature of above 60° Celcius or 140° Fahrenheit, unlike plastic.
